The Problem
1
Hearing children who are preverbal (babies) AND non-verbal or minimally verbal children with disabilities may not communicate effectively by speaking. Many children have not yet learned how to communicate their feelings and emotions spontaneously.
2
Lack of communication with
children leads to frustration and exhaustion for parents, educators, and most of all, for the children.
3
Lack of effective communication for children with AND WITHOUT disabilities can lead to frustration, isolation, anxiety, depression, anger, and further delays in educational and developmental milestones.
Signing Courses
We are then at your disposal for any help your staff needs as they take their children through this journey! There is no 'upselling' here - we are here to help you as you continue down this path of success.
Simply put, Signing Courses has created a proprietary method comprised of customized strategies and instructional videos, steps, and procedures for introducing and implementing American Sign Language to babies who are preverbal and children with disabilities who are non-verbal, minimally verbal, or completely verbal as a solution to communication barriers. Given the results of many communication barriers, our system also helps curb temper tantrums and behavior issues by equipping students and babies who otherwise were unable to communicate, before.
We equip you with classroom materials to help staff and students utilize engaging materials on a daily basis.
The Solution
We teach educators and parents through informational workshops how to utilize simple signs along with spoken language for long-term success.
What qualifies us to bridge the communication gap with American Sign Language?

Communication for All
I'm Jenny Stewart, the founder and CEO of Signing Courses. When it comes to assisting with the growth of children, our mission revolves around simplifying the search for an impactful professional development program that goes beyond checkboxes. We're here to offer you inclusivity, personal growth, team cohesion, and enhanced communication among your employees.
My journey into this field began when I witnessed the profound communication gap between the Deaf and hearing communities. It was a moment etched in my memory since I was a little girl watching my Deaf father communicate within the hearing world in which we live- that ignited my passion to bridge this divide.
Driven by this purpose, I embarked on a mission to educate schools, SLP's, and early education programs on the importance of inclusivity. In doing so, we not only empower schools to connect with the disabled or Deaf community but also enable educational teams to serve students more effectively and efficiently. We've seen the transformative power of these efforts, and we're excited to bring the same positive change to your curriculum program!
Understanding the benefits of ASL
-
ASL is a visual language that can facilitate faster and more accurate communication compared to relying solely on written or spoken language.
-
Research conducted by the University of California, Davis, found that sign language can reduce communication errors by up to 80% compared to other forms of communication used by individuals with hearing loss.
-
ASL is the third most widely used language in the US!
-
Research shows that sign language helps alleviate communication frustrations and can help encourage a child to seek other communication methods, such as speaking.
-
Research has also shown that early exposure to signing helps children develop their reasoning skills, as well. Instead of crying to get what they want, signing children learn to communicate with words and simple phrases.
"WOW! I have all 10 of the ASL Posters hung up in my Special Ed classroom and the students flock to them every morning to learn signs. I have been teaching Special Ed for 12 years and these are the nicest posters I've seen. The other classrooms are adding them for next year. I will be purchasing the Signing-Friendly Poster soon."

"We hired Professor Jenny for monthly workshops/consulting for our Early Childhood center. We didn't know what to expect because we've never experienced hiring someone like this before. Let me just say- what she has taught my staff has been absolutely life-changing. We have implemented everything she has taught us and the children are progressing. If you have a chance to work with her, do it. We have her posters and now Flashcards in our classrooms and the students love them. Thank you."
"Our daughter was delayed in speech. We kept hearing that signing would delay her, however, she was not speaking and we had never even attempted sign. Something felt off. We contacted Signing Courses. Once we started a personalized plan of signs and speech support with Signing Courses, our daughter started speaking and communicating. It was such a relief"
